I had the opportunity to read through the book titled ‘Two-Minute Wisdom’ by Dr. Mike Murdock (check that book out). He said something about the Lion that got me thinking, he said, “… the study of The Lion is fascinating. They are powerful, fast (running 37 miles per hour) and hunt in groups. Yet, they rest 20 hours a day. They naturally have a daily rhythm and routine that is relaxed…storing and harnessing the intensity of their thrust for the moments that matter.”
Immediately, my mind raced off to the story of a young David in the Bible. David was prepared before time to be a great king, but right before the battle that really mattered in his life was one little scenario that wanted to ruin his day of destiny. But David knew better than engage his elder brother. A simple reply and he was off. He knew that he only had as much strength as was needed to fight only one battle. He didn’t allow the ‘proverbial’ village people to use Eliab to ruin his day. He held tenaciously to his God given vision. And the rest, as they say, is history.
As we journey in life towards purpose fulfilment, we need to master the art of patience. Great leaders don’t go around responding to the naysayers, but focus their attention on the script that was dealt to them by the Almighty. You shouldn’t allow any one derail you from defeating that Goliath that seems a stumbling block along your path to destiny fulfilment. When you’re done with your mission, they will all stand to applaud you as king, and should anyone refuse to see the good in you, it shouldn’t bother you. You’ve fulfilled purpose, and it’s the vision giver that should matter
